Gideon Antle - Senior - Licking High School
Antle has been part of the Licking baseball program almost all of his life. He has played Center field, Shortstop, and Pitcher throughout his career.
After this season, he plans on attending Jefferson College and playing baseball. One day he would like to play professionally.
He is also a Member of FCA, NHS, and the Science Club. Antle played basketball his freshman and sophomore years. He is also a member of the 1,000 pound club at our school. Antle a class officer. He served as the president 2 years prior and this year as the secretary.
"During a regular season game I hit a go ahead home run off the best pitcher in the conference. It was a huge momentum swing and helped us to win the game later on." Antle said was his best memory competing.
His great moment of sportsmanship was when, "The summer before my freshmen year I played travel ball with a team named the Missouri Bandits. We had a huge fan named PJ who had cerebral palsy. We let him hit at the end of the game and run the bases. He loved it."
He has been a 2 time first team All State Athlete and on the 2019 JR Sunbelt All Tournament Team.
Antle said this about his dad and the support he has given him, "My dad, Coach Harv Antle has left the biggest mark on me. He has helped me through life and baseball exponentially. His baseball wisdom along with his faith and how to walk through life has helped me the most."
He closed with this, "Train train and train. Lifting weights and smashing baseballs in any spare time I’ve gotten has helped me get to where I want to be as a high school player. This will continue to help me through my college career."
