2020 Athlete Spotlight
Alexia Cressel
Senior - Laquey High School
Cressel is a 3 sports athlete. She is a point guard in basketball, striker in soccer, and plays 3rd base in softball.
She also participates in FBLA, Beta, Pep Club, Stu-co, and A+ outside of sports.
She plans on moving on to college next year and pursuing a degree after this year.
"Just being able to be on that court and field." She responded to about her best memory in sports.
On the field, she has earned my accolades and awards.

Female Athlete Award 2019- Laquey High School
“My soccer coach Sevon has coached me the 4 years, I have played soccer. He has taught me many things and doesn’t give up on us no matter what." She said about her coach.
Cressel gave this advice to close things out, "Give your all when you are playing, always listen to the coach and ask for help if needed."
She has been a runner up in districts twice so far as a soccer team and Soccer is currently scheduled to return on April 13th at Calvary Lutheran in Jefferson City according to the MSHSAA athletic Schedule.

The Lady Hornets fell to Climax Springs 58-30 after trailing 32-11 at the half.
Laquey was led by Briar Sayer with 17 points, followed by Makenzie Skidmore with 6, Aurora Rice with 5, and Hannah Henson added 2.
The Lady Hornets will be back in action Saturday, November 30th at 12:00 against Plato in the Frisco League Tournament.
That game will be tape delayed and uploaded on Allen Hilliard Sports FB & youtube on Sunday.
The boys fell to Climax Springs is a 56-22 loss. They were led by Jason Young with 8 points.
The Hornets will take on Iberia on Tuesday at 6:30 in the FLT Tournament.

The Laquey Hornets defeated the Dixon Bulldogs 4-0 Friday to win their second District Championship in a row and their 5th in 7 years.
The Hornets first goal came with 31 minutes left in the 1st half when Sam Urban score the first goal of the game. Just 10 minutes later the Hornets stung again as Gauge Fleschute gave the hornets a 2-0 lead. The laquey boys scored with just 2 minutes left in the first half as Urban scored his second goal of the game. Laquey led 3-0. The Hornets hung on to that lead going into halftime.
Urban picked up a hat trick with 18 minutes led in the game to give the Hornets a 4-0 lead that would be the final score.
