2020 Athlete Profile
Hunter O'Neal - Senior - Waynesville High School
Hunter has been part of the Tigers Baseball and Basketball programs since middle school. He plays 1st Base and various post positions on the basketball court.
"Competing and being around my teammates and Coaches." O'Neal said what his best memories were made.
Next year he plans on continuing his baseball career at Mineral Area College in Park Hills Missouri.
O'Neal has been 1st Team All District and Ozark Conference in baseball over the last few years.
He said this about what has encouraged him over the years, "My parents have always supported, coached and encouraged me."
O'Neal also is part of A+, HVAC, travel baseball, travel basketball and volunteered at Special Olympics.
He replied with this about his advice to someone, "Play hard and never give up on your dreams."
O'Neal also added this, "Let’s play baseball and get back to school."

This issue features multiple champions and a basketball wrap up.
This includes a basketball update for Pulaski County and Frisco League Schools.
The Tigers faced the Gladiators in the final game of the season. They picked up a 35-12 win over the Gladiators. They closed the season out as the Regular Season Champion.
The Tigers and Gladiators were tied at 6 points each after the first period. Black led the Tigers with 4 points. The Gladiators were led by #3 with 3 points. Tremell scored his first points of the season with a 2 point baskets in the period.
The Tigers outscored the Gladiators 11-0 in the second period to give them a 17-6 lead at the half.
"I am proud of their second quarter in the first half. We have come out and done better each after tough first period. Several players stepped up including Tremell in a big way. He hit a key shot." Head Tigers Coach Allen Hilliard said about the first half.
The Tigers were led by Schwass with 7 points in the first half. #3 led the Gladiators with his 3 points.
The Gladiators outscored the Tigers 6-4 in the third period of the game. #18 had 4 points in the period for the Gladiators while both Tibbs and Smith scored for the Tigers. The Tigers still led 21-12 going into the final quarter.
The Tigers closed the game out with a 14-0 shutout. This was the second game in a row where the Tigers shutout their opponents in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers were led in the fourth by Schwass with his 9 points. Fielder, Murphy, and Tremell also scored in the quarter.
The Tigers improved to 7-0 on the season with the 35-12 win. They will play the 1-5 Gladiators or 1-5 Blue Devils on Saturday the 22nd at the Waynesville Middle School.
"I am proud of the team. They had a great game overall. They worked together as a team this game." Hilliard said. He added, "I am looking ahead to the 22nd when we play out first playoff game. We will have a chance to finish the season strong. All the credit goes to the kids."

The youth Tigers were able to overcome a very early deficit and slow quarter on Saturday over the Gladiators. They picked up a 31-10 win in the contest.
The Tigers had a narrow 5-2 lead after the 1st quarter in the game.
Schwass led the Tigers with 4 points in the quarter, while Tibbs added 1 free throw to the lead. The Gladiators were led by #23 with here opening game basket.
The Tigers were 2 for 9 from the field in the period and out rebounded the Gladiators 7-1. The Gladiators were 1 for 2 from the field in the 1st.
The Tigers increased their lead after they out scored the Gladiators 7-3.
Schwass was the Tigers sole scoring in the period with his 7 points.
The Tigers were 3 for 3 from the field in the period, while the Gladiators were 0 for 1 from the field and 3 for 4 from the FT line.
#23 added 2 more points for the Gladiators. #2 added a free throw in the period. That gave the Tigers a small 12-5 lead at halftime.
The Tigers were 5 for 12 in the first half, while the Gladiators were 1 for 3.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Schwass with his 11 pts in the frist half. Tibbs added 1. The Gladiators were led by 23 with 4 pts and 2 with his ft.
As a team the Tigers shot 5 for 12 in the first half. The Gladiators were 2 for 3 in the game.
The Tigers out rebounded their opponent 10-5 in the first half.
The Tigers opened up the 3rd quarter with a strong defense. They out scored the Gladiators 8-2 in the period. They led 20-7 going into the final period of the game.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Black with 4 pts. Tibbs added another basket in the quarter. The Gladiators were led by #18 who scored their only basket at time ran out in the game.
The host Tigers out ran the Gladiators 11-3 in the final period of the game.
Fielder, Murphy, Johnson, and Dechard all scored in the final period of the game. The Gladiators points were scored by #18 and #2.
They won the game 31-10 and are 2-0 on the season, with a 1-0 playoff record. The next game for the Tigers is on January 11th against the 0-1 Blue Devils. The Tigers will face the Bulls on the 18th.
The Exel moved to 1-1 on Saturday after the defeated the (then) undefeated Bulls in a close 19-18 game.

The Waynesville Tigers had a come from behind win over Glendale in Springfield a few weeks ago. This game was no different as Waynesville and Glendale battle the entire game.
The Falcons would pick up a late score to secure the victory and move on to the state quarterfinals next Friday against Carthage in Springfield. They won 42-28
Glendale took an 8-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The falcons extended their lead to 22-7 after two more scored in the second quarter.
Both teams traded scores in the 3rd as Glendale led 28-14. The Tigers and Falcons both had touchdowns brought back on hold penalties that would have put either team team up in the quarter.
Both teams again scored twice in the final period to give the Falcons the programs 12 district football title.
Waynesville ended their season as the most win since their 2007 State Championship.
WHS was 7-4 and set several records including points in a game and half against Spf Central. They also broke or Tied at lead 5 Individual game record this year.
